Astana, Kazakhstan, May 4, 2024: The Director General of Kazakhstan NOC, Nurlan Nogerbek, held a meeting with representatives of Nazarbayev University on students joining an internship programme with National Federations (NFs).
The meeting was also attended by Dr. Yeltay Rahmanov, co-director of master’s degree programme "Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation" of the University’s School of Medicine; Manas Usenov, General Secretary of the Kazakhstan Biathlon Union; Kenzhesh Sarsekenova, Vice President of the Kazakhstan Skating Federation; and Rinat Dairov, executive director of the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation.
The parties discussed the forthcoming two-week internship for NU School of Medicine who are studying sports medicine and rehabilitation. Practical experience will be gained with the national sports federations of tennis, biathlon, skating and short-track speed skating.
Eight students will participate in the internship programme jointly held by the Kazakhstan NOC and the University. This cooperation will support the development of sports science and provide students hands-on experience working with leading athletes of national teams.
The Nazarbayev University School of Medicine began offering a master’s degree in sports medicine and rehabilitation in 2020.
