Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, April 25, 2024: The 26th National Olympic Academy (NOA) Session for Young Olympic Ambassadors is being coordinated by the Olympic Council of Malaysia and NOA Malaysia from April 23-27 at OCM Indoor Sports Complex, Kuala Lumpur.
The NOA Session commenced on Wednesday, April 24 with an inspiring Opening Ceremony officiated by Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Mohammad Norza Zakaria, President of OCM.
"I extend a warm welcome to all the participants and encourage them to carry and embrace the true spirit of Olympism into the world as the young ambassadors of the Olympic Movement,” the OCM President said.
"Seize this opportunity with enthusiasm and determination in your capacity as Olympic Ambassadors. Be the purveyors of peace, unity and solidarity,” he added.
This NOA Session holds the distinction of being one of the longest-running NOA events around the world. This year, there are 40 participants, comprising 20 local participants and 20 international participants. The international participants include representatives from the NOCs of Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Lao, Myanmar, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
The theme for the 26th NOA Session is "The Athlete and Olympian in Modern Society: Inspiring and Fostering Unity". Throughout the session, a total of six lectures and various activities will be conducted to enrich the participants' experience.
The NOA Session is being coordinated by Mr. Nicholas Chan Yee Soon as the advisor and the Director of the National Olympic Academy, supported by a team of moderators.
