Maldives Olympic Committee meets FIFA, AFC in bid to boost football

Male, Maldives, April 24, 2024: The Maldives Olympic Committee took part in a high-level meeting with representatives from FIFA and AFC with the aim of lifting the standards of football in the country.

 

Representing the Maldives in the meeting with the world governing body of football and the Asian Football Confederation were MOC President Mohamed Abdul Sattar, Vice President Ahmed Ismail, Secretary General Thamooh Ahmed Saeed and Finance Director Ibrahim Azoor.

 

The main purpose of the meeting was to conduct an in-depth analysis of the current state of football in the Maldives, with a focus on identifying key areas for enhancement and formulating a strategic plan for advancement.

 

Discussions facilitated a formal exchange of ideas, fostering an environment conducive to collaborative decision-making and paving the way for future initiatives aimed at significantly boosting football standards in the Maldives.

 

Maldives is currently placed 161 in the FIFA World Rankings.
