New Delhi, India, April 15, 2024: The Indian Olympic Association has congratulated shooter Palak Gulia after she qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Hangzhou Asian Games gold medallist Gulia booked her ticket to Paris in the women’s 10m Air Pistol by winning the bronze medal in the ISSF Final Olympic Qualification Championship for rifle and pistol in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Sunday, April 14.

Seven of the eight finalists were eligible to win the two Olympic quotas on offer, and the 18-year-old Palak overcame a slow start and climbed the competitive field to clinch her Paris berth. India has swept all possible 16 Olympic quota places in rifle and pistol.

“Many congratulations to @shooter_palakgulia for winning a quota in shooting for the @paris2024 Olympic Games” posted the IOA on social media.

Palak won an individual gold medal in the 10m air pistol event and a silver medal in the team event at the Hangzhou Asian Games last September and October.

India’s shotgun shooters can still earn four Paris berths in men’s and women’s trap and skeet events when the ISSF Final Olympic Qualification Championship for shotgun gets underway on Friday, April 19, in Doha, Qatar.
