Hanoi, Vietnam, April 15, 2024: The Vietnam Olympic Committee organised an Olympic Day celebration on April 11 as part of their preparations for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The event was held in conjunction with the International Vietnamese School in Hanoi and the Vietnamese Martial Arts Training Centre Science Institute. The aim was to promote Olympic values, fair play and sportsmanship and to encourage sports fitness training and a healthy lifestyle.
Representatives from the Vietnam Olympic Committee, the government’s department of sport, the French Embassy in Vietnam, national sports federations and associations also attended the event, along with 1,000 students, teachers and staff connected with sports education.
The activities included an arts programme, lion and dragon dance, torch relay and vovinam demonstration.
The Olympic Day celebration was also an opportunity to assemble the youth and teach them more about the Olympic movement in Vietnam and around the world and about the sports programme of the Paris Olympics.
The students took part in an Olympic quiz and art competition with a Paris 2024 theme, thereby learning more about the torch relay, flags and symbols from Olympic Games history.
