Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei, April 10, 2024: The Southeast Asia Regional Anti-Doping Organisation (SEA RADO) has highlighted the “great work” of the Brunei Darussalam Anti-Doping Committee (BDADC) in a social media feature.
SEA RADO is full of praise for the smallest National Anti-Doping Organisation in the Southeast Asia region and the dedication of its volunteers.
“Brunei Darussalam has the smallest population in Southeast Asia but are doing great work in the area of clean sport,” SEA RADO says.
“Established in 2007, the BDADC has been spearheading the anti-doping efforts in the country with a comprehensive testing programme and various education initiatives, as well as liaising with the media to create awareness.
“All these programmes are run by volunteers who are passionate and enthusiastic. BDADC has been active to also ensure the professional development of the volunteers, with the Doping Control Officers (DCO) completing the IDCO certification by the International Testing Authority (ITA). Their members have been nominated for major events as DCOs and members of the outreach team.”
Mr. Sukardi Kaderi, Deputy Chair of the BDADC, said: “The work in anti-doping is increasing by the day. We look forward to establishing a stronger anti-doping team as well as to further collaborate with established NADOs (National Anti-Doping Organisations) to get more ideas and make our programmes more effective.”
