Hong Kong, China, April 3, 2024: The Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China began the 2024/25 SF&OC Greater Bay Area (GBA) Youth Sports Exchange Programme on Tuesday, April 2 with a four-day visit to Dongguan and Nansha.

The delegation, led by SF&OC Vice President Ronnie Wong, comprises nearly 70 members including young athletes, coaches and team leaders from billiards, diving and judo.

They will take part in sports exchange activities, joint training and friendly matches alongside athletes from Guangdong Province.

Mr. Wong said: "The 2025 National Games will be co-hosted by Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. The Federation hopes to continue to deepen the cooperation between Guangdong and Hong Kong through the exchange programmes in the coming year in order to stimulate the understanding and aspiration of young athletes towards the National Games. The programme will allow them to learn from each other through sports and cultural exchanges."

Mr. Wong said he hoped that athletes from the cities could take skills and culture to the next level and further contribute to the development of the Greater Bay Area through solidarity.

With the 15th National Games of China taking place in 2025, the delegation will visit Games venues in Nansha, such as Nansha International Tennis Center and Nansha Gymnasium, to understand the preparation of sports stadiums for large-scale events.

Organised by SF&OC and supported by the Sports Bureau of Guangdong Province and its associated organisations, the 2024/25 SF&OC GBA Youth Sports Exchange Programme will arrange its next visit in July to Zhaoqing.
