OCA announces new dates for Olympic Solidarity regional forums

Kuwait City, Kuwait, March 28, 2024: The Olympic Council of Asia has announced that the two regional forums held in cooperation with Olympic Solidarity have been put back to new dates.

The forum for East and Southeast Asian National Olympic Committees will now be held on June 1-2 at the Mandarin Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Arrival will be May 31 and departure June 3.

The forum for West, Central and South Asian NOCs will now take place from June 5-6 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Bahrain. Arrival will be June 4 and departure June 7.

The dates have been pushed back due to the change in date of the 43rd OCA General Assembly, from April 14 in New Delhi to May 11 in Bangkok.

“As you are aware, the 43rd OCA General Assembly has now been postponed to be held in Bangkok on May 11, 2024,” the OCA/Olympic Solidarity said in a circular to Asia’s NOCs.

“This will fall immediately after the regional forums which were scheduled to be held in Kuala Lumpur on May 3-4 and in Bahrain on May 6-7.

“In view of the above, the OCA, jointly with Olympic Solidarity and the respective NOCs, has decided to postpone the regional forums for 2024 to the new schedule.”

The agenda remains the same, focusing on Paris 2024 and upcoming OCA events such as the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Bangkok and Chonburi province from November 21-30, 2024, and the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin, China from February 7-14, 2025.
