Baghdad, Iraq, March 20, 2024: An eight-year strategic plan to develop sports was approved by the General Assembly of the Iraq National Olympic Committee last Saturday, March 16.
The General Assembly was chaired by Iraq NOC President Dr. Aqeel Muftin who in his address urged national sports federations to intensify efforts to promote sports throughout the country.
Dr. Muftin called on all federations to work diligently towards implementing the long-term strategic plan for the betterment of sport.
Secretary General Haitham Abdul Hamid gave a detailed presentation of the eight-year strategic plan which was then approved by the General Assembly.
The plan, which had previously been given the thumbs up by the NOC Executive Committee, focuses on high performance sports and how it should be successfully implemented.
