POA celebrates shooter Kishmala Talat on International Women’s Day

Lahore, Pakistan, March 11, 2024: The Pakistan Olympic Association has highlighted air pistol shooter Kishmala Talat in its celebratory message on social media for International Women’s Day on March 8.

Talat is the first Pakistani female shooter to win a silver medal at the Asian Championships and secure a direct Olympic quota for the Paris Games this summer.

The POA posted a photo of her and wrote: “On International Women’s Day, we celebrate the Olympic milestone that will be reached at Paris 2024: full gender parity on the field of play.”

The NOC added: “Championing equality, breaking barriers – on International Women’s Day, we celebrate the athleticism and Olympic spirit of women worldwide.”

Talat is an IOC Scholarship holder for Paris 2024. She won a silver medal at the Asian Championships in Jakarta, Indonesia in January. Last September, she won the bronze medal in the same event, 10m air pistol, at the Hangzhou Asian Games.
