Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, March 10, 2024: IOC Member HRH Princess Reema Bandar Al-Saud was selected as one of 10 women globally to watch out for in 2024 on International Women’s Day.
As the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee celebrated International Women’s Day by posting a congratulatory message on social media on March 8, Princess Reema was also feted.
“On International Women’s Day we celebrate our heroines for their brilliance and challenge in the world of sports,” the SOPC posted on X.
“Your achievements inspire everyone and confirm your strength and determination to achieve success in the field of sports,” the Saudi NOC added.
One such heroine being feted was HRH Princess Reema, who is one of 10 women globally to watch for in 2024, according to the World Economic Forum.
Appointed in 2019, Princess Reema is the first woman in Saudi Arabia’s history to serve in the role of Ambassador to the United States.
She has been on the IOC’s Gender, Equality & Inclusion Commission since 2018, advocating for sport as a “powerful force for the advancement of women”.
