Dubai, United Arab Emirates, February 29, 2024: The Organising Committee of the 1st Youth GCC Games UAE 2024, under the directions of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the United Arab Emirates National Olympic Committee, unveiled the official logo and mascot of the Games on Wednesday, February 28.

‘Our Gulf is one … Our Youth is promising’ is the official logo of these inaugural Games from April 16-May 2, 2024 in Dubai. The slogan expresses the value of respect, equality and fair play, and celebrates the growth of sporting achievements, friendship and solidarity among the Gulf youth.

The mascot is a falcon in a spacesuit symbolising lofty aspirations and ambitions that know no boundaries, reflecting the spirit of innovation and courage of young people inspired by the achievements of the Emirates Space Agency.

It was announced that around 3,500 athletes from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries will take part in 36 sports and 41 disciplines.

Vice President of UAE NOC Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, who chaired the meeting on Wednesday, began with conveying the greetings of NOC President Sheikh Ahmed.

Sheikh Rashid pointed out the Games was a unique opportunity as it is being held for the first time for a specific age group, which could be used as a launch pad for participation in future major sporting events such as the Asian Youth Games Tashkent 2025 and the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal 2026.

UAE NOC Secretary General Faris Mohammed Al Mutawa praised the level of coordination between all committees preparing for the Games which will be held across the Emirates – Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Fujairah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah.

Organisers also said the Opening Ceremony for the Games will be held on April 23 at Dubai Opera. The ceremony will range from artistic to heritage performances, harnessing modern technology and artificial intelligence.
