Manama, Bahrain, February 28, 2024: The President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, HH Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, presided over celebrations of Bahrain Sports Day 2024 on February 22.
Athletes and dignitaries from various national sports federations and clubs, representatives of government bodies and private sector companies, members of the diplomatic circle and the general community took part in the event under the patronage of Sheikh Khalid and organised by the General Sports Authority in cooperation with the Bahrain Sports for All Association.
BOC President Sheikh Khalid, who is also First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Chairman of the General Sports Authority, expressed his happiness with the popular participation of Bahrain Sports Day, which has become one of the most important national events celebrated by athletes, citizens and residents of the Kingdom.
He stated the increasing numbers of participants affirmed the spreading awareness of the benefits of sport on the quality of life and promoting health standards.
Among the several sporting events held were a CrossFit and 3x3 basketball competitions and a jogging race. Participants were also able to undergo medical examinations.
