Naypyidaw, Myanmar, February 26, 2024: The President of Myanmar Olympic Committee, His Excellency U Min Thein Zan, attended the opening ceremony of the 2023-24 State and Regional Billiards and Snooker Tournament at the Billiards and Snooker Gymnasium of Wunna Theikdi Indoor Stadium in Naypyidaw on Saturday, February 24.
The Myanmar NOC President, who is also Union Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, was accompanied by members of the National Administrative Council, Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Departmental Officials and officials from the Myanmar Billiards and Snooker Federation.
In his opening address, the Union Minister welcomed the sports brothers and sisters representing their state or regional teams. He urged fair play and sportsmanship at all times and to abide by the rules of the competition.
The tournament will run from February 24 to March 1 and will try to unearth new talent to represent the national team as well as promoting friendship between the athletes from different states and regions.
A total of 13 men’s teams and 10 women’s teams are taking part and parents, families and friends are invited to attend free of charge along with the general public.
