Muscat, Oman, February 25, 2024: The Board of Directors of the Oman Olympic Committee held its first meeting of the year under the patronage of its President Khalid bin Muhammad Al-Zubair earlier this month.

President Khalid congratulated national sports federations on the positive sports results achieved in 2023 and appreciated their cooperation with the NOC for the benefit of Omani sports.

He said 2024 would bring more challenges and hoped for more success and excellence.

Participants were then briefed of the international programme facing Omani athletes in 2024 including the Paris Olympics, the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Bangkok and Chonburi in November and the inaugural Gulf Youth Games in Dubai from April 16 to May 2.

The Board directed that the High Level Sports and Olympic Planning Committee coordinate with the national sports federations to complete the procedures for participation at these international events.
