Kuwait City, Kuwait, February 18, 2024: The Olympic Council of Asia has announced the dates of the 9th Asian Winter Games to be held in Harbin, China in 2025.
In a circular to the 45 National Olympic Committees of the OCA dated February 18, Deputy Director General Vinod Kumar Tiwari said the 9th AWG would take place from Friday, February 7 to Friday, February 14, 2025.
The dates have been set in coordination with the Harbin Asian Winter Games Organising Committee (HAWGOC) and the Chinese Olympic Committee.
The OCA has already conducted the first Coordination Committee meeting for the 9th AWG in Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang province in northeast China, during which HAWGOC released the mascots, emblem and slogan: Dreams of Winter, Love among Asia.
Harbin will be hosting the AWG for the second time, after 1996, and several of the ice stadium venues from that first hosting will be used in 2025.
