Maldives NOC President Mohamed Sattar re-elected to CIJ organising committee

Male, Maldives, February 15, 2024: The President of Maldives Olympic Committee Mohamed Abdul Sattar has secured re-election for his second term as the 2nd Vice President for the Organising Committee of the Indian Ocean Island Games (CIJ).

 

The Maldives Olympic Committee congratulated President Sattar on his re-election which took place at a meeting of the CIJ in Comoros Islands on Wednesday, February 14.

 

The MOC was represented at the meeting by Secretary General Thamooh Ahmed Saeed and Commonwealth Games officer Ibrahim Eman, both of whom provided a platform for constructive discussion on forthcoming editions of the Indian Ocean Island Games.

 

Comoros is set to host the next Games in 2027 followed by the Maldives in 2031.

 

The MOC said it looked forward to continued collaboration with the CIJ Organising Committee to further elevate the standards of sporting excellence in the Indian Ocean region.
