Nepal NOC President bids farewell to Qatar-bound athletes

Kathmandu, Nepal, February 12, 2024: The President of Nepal Olympic Committee, Jeevan Ram Shrestha, bid farewell to athletes from two different sports who left for Doha, Qatar last week.

 

Four from swimming and five from equestrian participated at a farewell ceremony presided by the Nepal NOC President. The swimmers – Alexander Shah, Nasir Hussain, Duana Lama and Gaurika Singh – will take part in the World Aquatics Championships.

 

Five riders from the Nepal Equestrian Association will also be travelling to the prestigious Al Saqab International training facility in Doha. They are Govinda Khadka, Jagadish Ghising, Ram Krishna Adhikari, Ramhari Khadka and KC Niroj. They are the first batch of riders who will train in Doha. Another five will travel in April.

 

President Shrestha gave his best wishes to all the athletes and said the opportunity to compete and train in Doha would help enhance their skills.

 

Also travelling to Qatar were two officials of the Nepal Swimming Association, Ashok Ratna Bajracharya and Paras Shrestha, who will be participating in the Asia Aquatics Extraordinary General Congress.
