Jordan, Qatar NOCs look at ways to strengthen sporting ties

Amman, Jordan, February 7, 2024: His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Hussein, President of the Jordan Olympic Committee and a member of the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee, met with HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, on Monday, February 5.

 

The meeting between the two NOC Presidents took place on the sidelines of the World Aquatics Championships currently underway in the Qatar capital, Doha.

 

During the meeting, the aspects of joint sporting cooperation between Jordan and Qatar were discussed and ways to support and develop it were reviewed.

 

Prince Faisal also lauded Doha’s hosting of the World Aquatics Championships and the distinctive sporting hospitality embraced by the state of Qatar which has become a prominent sporting destination.

 

In 2022, Qatar hosted the FIFA World Cup, the first time the football showcase had been staged in the Middle East.

 

In 2030, Doha will host the 21st Asian Games.
