Japanese fencer receives Olympic pin from IOC President

Lausanne, Switzerland, February 19, 2020: Two Olympic Games fencing medal-winners met at the International Olympic Committee HQ in Lausanne, Switzerland for a special presentation.

The IOC President, Thomas Bach, presented Japan’s Yuki Ota with the Olympic pin for his silver medal at Beijing 2008.

Bach won Olympic gold at Montreal 1976 as part of Germany’s men’s foil team, while Ota won silver medals at Beijing 2008 in the individual foil and at London 2012 with Japan’s men’s foil team.

Ota, 34, was the Asian Games individual foil champion in Doha in 2006. He is President of the Japanese Fencing Federation and a Vice President of the International Fencing Federation.
