Tajik skiers receive helping hand from hosts Korea before Gangwon 2024

Dushanbe, Tajikistan, January 16, 2024: The National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Tajikistan initiated an 11-day training camp in Korea for the country’s skiers who will compete at Gangwon 2024 Winter Youth Olympic Games.

 

Among the Tajikistan athletes who participated in the training camp from January 5-15, were members of the ski team Abdullozoda Ikromiddin (giant slalom), Atokhoja Azamkhoja (slalom), Khalikov Mahmadrajab (slalom) and their coach Eshanov Saidakbar.

 

The first ever Winter Youth Olympics in Asia will get underway on Friday, January 19 and end on February 1.

 

The Tajikistan skiers trained with athletes from a number of countries at the Alpensia Ski Resort in PyeongChang County. Top foreign coaches were also part of the programme designed to help athletes from the countries where winter sports is still in a nascent stage of development.
