Taipei, January 16, 2024: The Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee (CTOC) staged a flag presentation ceremony for the Chinese Taipei delegation to the 4th Winter Youth Olympic Games Gangwon 2024 on January 12.
Mr. Wen-Chung Pan, Minister of Education, presented the Chinese Taipei NOC flag to Mr. Hong-Dow Lin, President of the CTOC and head of delegation.
In addition, a 60-minute orientation session, including detailed Games information, especially doping control guidelines, was given to attendees after the ceremony.
The 2024 Gangwon Winter YOG will be held in Gangwon province, Korea from January 19 to February 1. CTOC is sending 19 athletes to participate in four sports: ice hockey, luge, skating and skiing.
At the ceremony, CTOC President Hong-Dow Lin encouraged athletes to make the best of the Games and pursue excellence with determination and courage. The Games will also serve as the best opportunity for Chinese Taipei athletes to gain international experience in winter sports and to inspire more young athletes to participate in future Winter Youth Olympic Games.
