Nepal NOC holds 'New Coaching Structure’ course in bid to nurture world-class athletes

Kathmandu, Nepal, January 15, 2024: Chaturananda Rajvaidya, Vice President and Executive Director of the Nepal Olympic Committee, inaugurated a programme to empower coaches in the country at the NOC Headquarters in Lalitpur.

 

Titled "National Path for New Coaching Structure", the two-day course was attended by 37 participants from various sports disciplines, and was conducted by national table tennis player and Olympic Scholarship holder Nabita Shrestha.

 

The initiative was aimed at equipping coaches with essential and fundamental coaching principles and techniques so as to elevate their coaching practices.

 

On the first day, Shrestha, drawing from her extensive experience as a national athlete and scholarship recipient, led engaging sessions that covered key aspects of coaching methods.

 

The second day focused on high-performance and advanced coaching strategies. The programme not only placed emphasis on technical aspects but also looked at the psychological dimensions of coaching high-performance athletes.

 

In his opening address, NOC Vice President Rajvaidya expressed his excitement about the potential impact of this course on the sports landscape in Nepal. He underlined the importance of investing in coaching development to nurture and produce world-class athletes.
