Philippines to send three athletes to Winter YOG Gangwon 2024

Manila, Philippines, January 10, 2024: Tropical Philippines will send three young winter sports athletes to the Winter Youth Olympic Games in Korea this month.

Philippine Olympic Committee President Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino said: “It transcends climates, uniting us in the pursuit of excellence and the celebration of the human potential. Our athletes are a testament to this Olympic spirit.

“They have defied limitations and embraced the challenge of competing in winter sports, demonstrating the Filipino determination.”

The POC President is proud to announce the participation of Peter Groseclose, Avery Balbanida and Laetaz Rabe at the upcoming Winter YOG in Gangwon, South Korea from January 19 to February 1.

The Philippines may be a tropical country, but the participation of this hardy trip proves that the Olympic spirit knows no boundaries.

“Good luck to our Winter Youth Olympians. We are all cheering for you,” added the POC President.
