Baghdad, Iraq, January 9, 2024: The new President of the Iraq National Olympic Committee, Dr. Aqeel Muftin, received an elite delegation of political, economic and academic analysts at the NOC Headquarters on Monday, January 8.
The delegation gave its blessings and congratulations to Dr. Muftin and wished him success on his inauguration as head of the Iraqi NOC.
They then listened to a presentation from the NOC on the upcoming commitments on the Olympic, international, continental and Arab fields.
Also discussed were the priorities of the government with special emphasis being placed on supporting Olympic projects and preparations.
On his part, Dr. Muftin said he was determined to overcome any challenges and fully support efforts to raise the country’s sporting heritage so as to open up a positive gateway to the outside world.
