Amman, Jordan, January 8, 2024: The Secretary General of the Jordan Olympic Committee, Rana Al-Saeed, launched a ‘Self-Discovery’ programme for national athletes last Friday, January 5.
The three-day workshop, which was attended by 80 athletes, was organised by the Jordan Olympic Academy, the educational arm of the Jordanian Olympic Committee, and under the auspices of the International Olympic Committee’s Athlete365 Career+ programme.
Enas Hussein from Egypt, who is the Director of Development at the International Rowing Federation, conducted the workshop along with Jordanian Olympic taekwondo athlete Nadine Dawani.
The Athlete365 Career+ programme has been designed by the IOC with the aim of providing advice to athletes as they begin to make their way towards their careers outside of sport. Topics discussed included life skills, education and employment, and how to write a CV.
The workshop also connected participants with fellow-athletes and Olympians who had done this programme previously, helping them increase their self-knowledge on the job opportunities available.
At the end of the workshop, JOC Secretary General Al-Saeed distributed certificates to all the participants.
