Iran NOC pushes for increased cooperation in sports field with Tajikistan

Tehran, Iran, December 25, 2023: The President of the National Olympic Committee of Iran, Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa, welcomed the Minister of Sports of Tajikistan, Abdollah Rahmanzoda, at the National Olympic Academy in Tehran on Saturday, December 23.

 

The Iranian NOC chief in his welcome address said: “Iran and Tajikistan have a lot in common in various fields such as language, culture and customs. This common cultural heritage makes cooperation easier and we are fully prepared for any kind of communication for the growth and promotion of each other’s sports.”

 

Khosravi Vafa added: “Our National Olympic Academy is one of the important and main centres of the country in the field of education and training, and we can cooperate well with each other based on your needs with the cooperation of federations in exchange of coaches, joint camps and training courses.”

 

Dr. Seyed Manaf Hashemi, NOC Secretary General, also welcomed the Tajikistan Sports Minister, saying: “Definitely, the two countries of Iran and Tajikistan can have a strong cooperation in sports thanks to their common language and historical and cultural affinity. In order to increase the friendship between the two countries, the NOC is ready to host sports teams and even coaches in various areas such as sports psychology, sports management, sports medicine and other fields.”

 

Abdollah Rahmanzoda said: “I have been to many countries but I told my friends if I don’t go to Iran it means I have not gone anywhere, because we always consider you as our brothers. I am grateful for your good treatment and hospitality.”
