Hong Kong, China, December 19, 2023: In celebration of the contribution of the sports personalities who were awarded by the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) in this year's Honour List, the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) held the Honour Roll Ceremony on Tuesday, December 19 to congratulate the award recipients.
Mr. Kevin Yeung, Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, officiated the ceremony and presented commemorative plaques to four awardees who attended the ceremony:
Grand Bauhinia Medal: Mr. Timothy Fok, President, SF&OC
Gold Bauhinia Star: Prof. Herman Hu, Vice President, SF&OC
Silver Bauhinia Star: Mr. K. L. Suen
Medal of Honour: Dr. Lobo Louie
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Fok said: "I am delighted that several sports personalities have been awarded by the Chief Executive, recognizing their extraordinary contributions to the development and promotion of sports over the years.
“On behalf of the sports industry, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the HKSAR Government for their support and recognition.
“In recent years, our athletes have received great support from the public, thanks to the active promotion of sports by various sectors. I look forward to an even more vibrant sports development in Hong Kong."
*At the Annual General Meeting, SF&OC passed Special Resolutions and conferred Observer status to the Dodgeball Association of Hong Kong, China Limited and Hapkido Hong Kong, China Limited with effect from December 20, 2023.
*SF&OC also hosted a Christmas Dinner to gather with representatives of the National Sports Associations and collaborators from various sectors as an appreciation for their continuous support to SF&OC.
