Uzbekistan NOC signs agreement with Chinese ceremony specialists

Tashkent, Uzbekistan, December 19, 2023: The National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Zhejiang Dafeng Industry Co. Ltd.  - the Chinese company behind the Opening and Closing Ceremonies at the Hangzhou Asian Games and Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.

 

The agreement was signed on Monday, December 18 at the Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports. Minister Adham Ikramov welcomed the Chinese delegation to the meeting which was also attended by NOC Secretary General Oybek Kasimov.

 

Zhejiang Dafeng Industry has been involved in the field of culture, sports and tourism for many years and was involved in the artistic organisation of opening and closing ceremonies for major sporting events.

 

During the cordial meeting, the Chinese side put forward its proposals for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Asian Youth Games Tashkent 2025, as well as providing the infrastructure for competition venues with modern technologies.

 

In his turn, Minister Ikramov expressed the importance of having solemn ceremonies highlighting the history of the country and its rich cultural heritage dating back centuries, as well as underlining the bright future of the nation.

 

At the end of the meeting, the memorandum was signed with the NOC undertaking to study the suggestions made by the Chinese company. It was then agreed on future steps of cooperation if both sides are satisfied.
