Thimphu, Bhutan, December 18, 2023: The Bhutan Olympic Committee was awarded the Druk Thuksey Medal – The Royal Order of Bhutan – by his Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck during the 116th National Day on Sunday, December 17.
His Royal Highness Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck, President of the Bhutan Olympic Committee, received the medal at a ceremony held at Changlingmethang National Stadium.
In a statement the BOC said: “With blessings from His Majesty and under the leadership of HRH Prince Jigyel, the Bhutan Olympic Committee and all our member affiliates wholeheartedly express our commitment and dedication to further advance sports in the country.
“We will, and must, fulfil our destiny,” the BOC added.
