Colombo, Sri Lanka, December 14, 2023: The National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka together with the Sports Branch of the Ministry of Education conducted a six-day Strength and Conditioning Level One Course in the southern city of Galle.
The course, which was facilitated by World Athletics and the Sri Lanka School Sports Council, was held from December 6-11 at Mahinda College and was attended by 55 track and field coaches from around the island-nation.
Professor Ria Lumintusrso, Course Director of the Asian Development Centre in Jakarta, conducted the course along with World Athletics-qualified lecturers from Sri Lanka H.D. Rathnasooriya and Susantha Kularathna.
Professor Lumintusrso thanked Sri Lanka NOC for inviting him to conduct the course and said: “Hopefully this will help develop and produce more quality athletes and increase performance in the future.”
