Penang, Malaysia, February 17, 2020: The Olympic Council of Malaysia in collaboration with the Malaysia Judo Federation organised the Technical Course for Coaches in Judo (Level 1) from February 10-14 at the Penang Golf Club.

The course was supported and endorsed by Olympic Solidarity and the International Judo Federation. It was conducted by “Sensei” (teacher) Salim Bougoffa from Great Britain, who was appointed by the IJF.

Twenty nine judo coaches from six affiliate members of the national judo federation attended the course.

Both the opening and closing ceremonies of the course were officiated by Dato’ Ong Poh Eng, Vice President of OCM, on February 10 and February 14, respectively.

Dato’ Ong Poh Eng, in his closing speech, thanked the MJF for their collaboration in organising the course and congratulated all the participants on successfully completing the five-day course.

“We hope the IJF and the MJF will also provide the opportunity for female coaches to participate in their programmes including the courses like the Technical Course for Coaches in Judo,” added Dato’ Ong Poh Eng.
