Dubai, United Arab Emirates, December 11, 2023: Dr. Hashel Al-Taniji, Chairman of the Sports Medicine Committee of the United Arab Emirates National Olympic Committee, made a presentation of the services provided to UAE athletes during his recent visit to the Olympic National Sports Medical Centre in Cologne, Germany.
During his visit, Dr. Hashel met with Professor Hans George Predel, Head of the Olympic Medicine Centre, and discussed the German Olympic Sports Medicine system.
Dr. Hashel also briefed his hosts on the preparations being taken by the UAE to host the World Congress of Sports Medicine in Dubai from October 24-27, 2024, and issued an invitation to attend the conference.
The Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the International Federation of Sports Medicine, Professor Yanis Betiseladis, and the Secretary General of the German Association of Sports Medicine, Professor Rodger Rier, also affirmed their confidence and optimism in the UAE NOC hosting this conference for the first time.
The German officials also expressed their desire for continued cooperation and partnership in sports medicine, and of sharing the latest innovations in sports medicine and sports science.
