Amman, Jordan, December 4, 2023: The Jordan Taekwondo Federation is celebrating an Olympic hat-trick ahead of Paris 2024.

The federation has announced that three taekwondo players from the talented national team have qualified directly for next year’s Olympic Games on the strength of finishing the year in the top six in the world in their respective weight categories.

This means they will compete in Paris without having to go through the continental qualification process.

The trio are Tokyo Olympics silver medallist Saleh Salah El Sharabaty at men’s -80kg, Julyana Al Sadeq at women’s -67kg and Zaid Kareem in the men’s -68kg.

“Jordanian taekwondo achieves an unprecedented historic achievement, qualifying a player from the national team to the Paris 2024 Olympics directly through the international ranking of players, without going to the continental qualifiers,” the federation said.
