Head of Nepal Olympic Committee Medical Commission passes away

Kathmandu, Nepal, November 12, 2023: Dr. Saroj Krishna Shrestha, the Chair of the Medical Commission of the Nepal Olympic Committee, passed away on Thursday, November 9. He was 66.

 

The Nepal Olympic Committee in a statement said it was deeply saddened to learn about the untimely death of the chairperson of its Medical Commission.

 

Dr. Saroj Shrestha also held the position of Chief of Anti-Doping Committee in the NOC and was the Acting Chairman of Medical and Sports Science Committee of the Asian Paralympic Committee.

 

“Dr. Saroj had exhibited an unwavering commitment to the field of sports medicine and promoting anti-doping measures in Nepal,” the NOC said. “The sports fraternity of Nepal has lost an important figure. May his soul rest in peace.”

 

A final tribute to Dr. Saroj by officials of the NOC as well as members of national sports federations was held on Friday, November 10.
