Kuwait City, Kuwait, November 8, 2023: The Olympic Council of Asia has appointed a Constitutional Reforms Committee to oversee reforms to the OCA Constitution.
In a circular to OCA Executive Board members and member National Olympic Committees of the OCA dated November 8, Acting OCA President Raja Randhir Singh says the new committee will carry out reforms to the OCA Constitution to be in line with the statutes of other major international sports organisations.
Raja Randhir says the Constitutional Reforms Committee has been formed as per the decision of the OCA Executive Board meeting held on October 19.
The OCA Constitutional Reforms Committee will be chaired by OCA Vice President Lt. Genl. (retired) Syed Arif Hasan of Pakistan will and consist of the following members: Mr. Debendranath Sarangi, Deputy Chair, OCA Ethics Committee – India; Mr. Fumio Ogura, Member, OCA Rules Committee – Japan; Ms. Aysha Abdulla Mutaywea, Attorney – Bahrain; Mr. Christopher Chan, Secretary General, NOC of Singapore, Member, OCA Rules Committee; and Mr. Oybek Kasimov, Secretary General, NOC of Uzbekistan.
The OCA Constitutional Reforms Committee will be assisted by Mr. Michele Bernasconi, OCA Lawyer, and the OCA Secretariat.
“Should you wish to suggest any amendment to the OCA Constitution, please feel free to send in your recommendations/comments to the Chair of Reforms Committee or the OCA Secretariat by 31st of December 2023,” writes Raja Randhir.
