Kuwait City, Kuwait, November 7, 2023: The Olympic Council of Asia has announced the Chair and 12 members of the OCA Coordination Committee for the 20th Asian Games in Japan in 2026.
In a circular dated November 7 to the OCA Executive Board members and member National Olympic Committees, Acting OCA President Raja Randhir Singh has listed 12 members under the chairmanship of OCA Vice President Timothy Fok, who is President of the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China.
“After the successful culmination of the Hangzhou Asian Games, the OCA has shifted its focus on to the 20th Asian Games to be held in Aichi-Nagoya in 2026,” Raja Randhir writes.
“For the smooth conduct of the Games and also to assist the Organizing Committee in the successful conduct of the Games, I have nominated the Coordination Committee for the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.”
They are: Chair, Mr. Timothy Fok, Vice President, OCA; members, Mr. Mohammad Tayyab Ikram, President, International Hockey Federation; Mr. Seung Min Ryu, Chair, OCA Entourage Committee; Mr. Song Luzeng, Chair, OCA Sports Committee; Dr. Sultan Al Busaidi, Chair, OCA Medical Committee; Chair (to be named), OCA Athletes’ Committee; Mr. Naoto Tobe, OCA Athletes’ Committee member from Japan; Gen. Dahlan Juman, President, Asian Athletics Association; Mr. Battushig Batbold, President, NOC Mongolia; Dr. Norza Zakaria, President, NOC Malaysia; Mrs. P.T. Usha, President, Indian Olympic Association; Mr. Faris Al Kooheji, Secretary General, NOC Bahrain; and Mr. Tran Van Manh, Secretary General, NOC Vietnam.
The Coordination Committee will be assisted by the OCA headquarters delegates.
The 20th Asian Games will take place from September 19 to October 4, 2026 in Aichi Prefecture and its capital city, Nagoya. It will be the third time Japan has hosted the Asian Games, following Tokyo 1958 and Hiroshima 1994.
