Malaysia NOC announces third qualifier for Paris 2024

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, October 25, 2023: The Olympic Council of Malaysia has congratulated Johnathan Wong Guanjie on becoming the third Malaysian athlete to qualify for the Paris Olympics.

The pistol specialist earned his place at Paris 2024 at the 15th Asian Shooting Championships, which is being held from October 22 to November 2 in Changwon, Korea. 

Johnathan, 31, finished fourth in the men's 10m air pistol to earn the quota place, marking his second appearance in the Olympics following his debut at Rio 2016.

Johnathan is the third Malaysian athlete to book a ticket to Paris 2024, following Bertrand Rhodict Lises (aquatics-diving) and Nur Shazrin Mohamad Latif (sailing).
