ITA notifies boxer and kabaddi athlete of adverse analytical finding

Lausanne, Switzerland, October 14, 2023: The International Testing Agency (ITA), mandated by the Olympic Council of Asia to independently handle areas of the anti-doping programme at the Asian Games Hangzhou 2022, including results management, reports that samples collected from boxer Chinzorig Baatarsukh of Mongolia and kabaddi athlete Adil Hussain from Pakistan, has returned an Adverse Analytical Finding (AAF) for a prohibited substance.

Hussain has returned an AAF for 19-norandrosterone and Baatarsukh has returned an AAF for metandienone metabolite, both being non-specified prohibited substances according to the Prohibited List of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

The samples were collected by the ITA at the Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 during an in-competition anti-doping control on October 4. The Sample Collection Authority was the China Anti-Doping Agency.

Both athletes have been informed of the case and have the right to request the analysis of the B-sample.

The matter will thereafter be referred to the Anti-Doping Division of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS ADD) for adjudication under the OCA Anti-Doping Rules.

Given that the case is underway, there will be no further comments during the ongoing proceedings.
