OCA forms committee to decide Asian Games MVP

Hangzhou, China, October 2, 2023: The Olympic Council of Asia has announced a six-member panel to determine the Most Valuable Player of the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

 

In a circular dated October 1, Acting OCA President Raja Randhir Singh said the MVP of the 19th Asian Games would be announced on the morning of October 8 - the day of the closing ceremony. The panel will meet on October 7 to discuss candidates.

 

The ad-hoc panel will be chaired by OCA Hon. Life Vice President Wei Jizhong and will be comprised of one representative of the five OCA zones to make sure that all performances from all National Olympic Committees have been monitored.

 

Mr. Wei is also Chair of the OCA Working Group during the Asian Games.

 

The regional representatives are: HRH Prince Fahad Jalawi Al Saud (West Asia), Mr. Oybek Kasimov (Central Asia), Mrs. Li Lingwei (East Asia), Mr. Abraham Tolentino (South East Asia) and Mr. Syed Shahid Reza (South Asia).

 

Japanese swimmer Rikako Ikee was named MVP of the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta/Palembang in 2018 after winning six gold and two silver medals.
