Hangzhou, China, October 2, 2023: China today embraces many tourists from home and abroad, and each of them visits the unique places of Hangzhou – host city of the 19th Asian Games.

As part of the wonderful OCA Guest Programme here at the Asian Games, we have seen an historical corner of Hangzhou which is considered a deep influence on Chinese civilization in the archeological ruins of the city of Liangzhu dating back 5,000 years.

The archeological ruins of the city of Liangzhu were added to the fourth group of great historical and cultural sites, which were preserved in 1996 by the State Council.

Also, on July 6, 2019, the archeological ruins of the city of Liangzhu were added to the UNESCO World List. In this pleasant place, our companions took many photos, and our guide also gave a lot of information about this historical place of Hangzhou.

In the cultural village of Liangzhu, there are unique monuments designed by the famous Japanese architect Tadao Ando, who believes in the emotional power in architecture; this center is equipped with a triangular design element everywhere.

Combining Eastern aesthetics with the theory of Western architecture, its locations, such as the Xiaofen Bookstore, the Great Bomi Store, and the Liangzhu Cultural Village Library, offer a rich literary atmosphere that includes many artistic events.

The museum houses more than 600 valuable artifacts from Liangzhu culture, including Jade, Stone, Pottery and Lacquerware. Each piece revealed Liangzhu’s past mind and beauty. We have been introduced to the UNESCO World List by seeing and getting acquainted with such an historical and architectural monument and got a rich impression.
