China adds three more golds in Apparatus Finals to boost total medal haul

Hangzhou, China, September 29, 2023: Host China continues to run up their Asian Games medal count, winning three more on Friday in the Artistic Gymnastics Apparatus Finals at Huanglong Sports Centre Gymnasium.

 

China’s impressive performance this day included gold from Zou Jingyuan on the Men’s Parallel Bars, Zhang Jin in the Women’s Floor Exercise, and Zhang Boheng on the Men’s Horizontal Bar.

 

Zhang Jin, who led China to gold in the team event, triumphed with 13.100 on the floor, ahead of silver medalist Kim Sonhyang of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (12.966) and bronze medalist Lim Su-min of Korea (12.800).

 

Zou won with a count of 15.933 on the parallel bars. Japan’s Takeru Kitazono (15.233) and Kakeru Tanigawa (15.066) landed the silver and bronze, respectively.

 

Zhang Boheng took honors on the horizontal bar at 15.100, ahead of compatriot Lin Chaopan who landed the silver with 14.800, while Kakeru Tanigawa picked up his second bronze of the day on 14.633.

 

Japan’s Mana Okamura, the silver medalist in the Women’s All-Around, pocketed the gold on the Women's Balance Beam with 13.966. China’s Tang Xijing claimed the silver at 13.733, while Chinese Taipei’s Ting Hua-Tien got the bronze on 13.300.

 

Wataru Tanigawa won gold for Japan in the Men’s Vault with a tally of 15.016. Iran’s Mahdi Olfati earned the silver at 14.783, while Malaysia’s Aimy Muhammad Sharu took home the bronze on 14.466.
