OCA Acting President opens Hangzhou Asian Games Museum

Hangzhou, China, September 28, 2023: The Acting President of the Olympic Council of Asia, Raja Randhir Singh, unveiled the Hangzhou Asian Games Museum on Thursday, September 28.

Tracing a journey that began in 2015, when Hangzhou was awarded the 19th Asian Games, the museum enshrines the legacy of the Asian Games across five sections of content and exhibitions.

Here, visitors will find the Asian Games torches, medals and mascots from every edition going back to 1951.

Asia’s National Olympic Committees have also donated treasure memorabilia, and the OCA’s donation of six sports art statues are a highlight of the exhibitions.

With high-tech displays, the Hangzhou Asian Games Museum brings the past and present together under one roof and offers a fascinating look into the history of the Asian Games.

The museum is located at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre Stadium.

The OCA Culture Committee also paid a visit to the museum, led by the Chair, Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul, IOC Member from Thailand, accompanied by fellow IOC Member Zhang Hong and Culture Committee member Francis Wanadi of Indonesia.
