Hangzhou, China, September 28, 2023: Travelling and observing life gives a person peace of mind, the beauty of the heart, a pleasant feeling and a good time.
With these high ideals, we, a group of OCA young reporters, went on a tour of the sights of Hangzhou. Our journey was unique. We were led by a guide, Grace, who was a happy and an open-minded woman.
Along with her was a photographer who photographed the most interesting moments of our lives at that time.
In the first step, our guide Grace presented us with a memorable gift. Then, we went to the Cultural and Tourist Park of Hangzhou, which was on the West Lake. At the entrance to the garden was the name of the garden in large Chinese letters. There were very interesting statues and distinctive buildings around the garden.
The people of this region are very kind and welcomed us with bright eyes and smiling faces. I was very happy about this pleasant condition.
Sitting on a boat is my favorite pastime and, fortunately, we boarded the boat and took a trip on West Lake. Inside the boat, we spoke to each other in all kinds of languages, took wonderful photos and laughed…and laughed again.
After that we went on a tour of the city market. The population of this land is very large. The movement of countless people, the buildings and shops decorated with Chinese national flags and other designs looked truly amazing. I was very busy watching the people and watching local life.
The very sweet ice cream and the humor of the ice cream salesman were wonderful and memorable. A few moments later, we arrived at an artist’s street studio to be greeted by an artist with a very kind look.
I'm really interested in painting and drawing. So, there we stayed, and the young man drew a lovely portrait of me in only 10 minutes. His creativity and art earned a lot of praise – and the portrait is something I will always treasure.
After sitting and watching life unfold in Hafeng Street, we walked to the restaurant for dinner. Together with the group we rejoiced, ate dinner and returned to the hotel.
It was a historic day in my book of life. It was really awesome!
