Asian Games – a messenger for peace

Hangzhou, China, September 27, 2023: Sport is called the messenger of peace. The basis of human health can also be found in sports. We young people keep our mental world perfect and healthy by doing sports.

The city of Hangzhou in China is a great celebration of sport and peace at this time as the 19th Asian Games are underway. From Bangladesh to Bahrain and from Tajikistan to Thailand, Asia is united as athletes gather from all corners of the continent.

Active Tajik youth have come to Hangzhou for the Asian Games with full readiness to perform at their best in this great city. The athletes of Tajikistan are competing in various sports such as tennis, rowing, wrestling, football swimming and more.

The opening ceremony of the Asian Games will live long in the memory, not only because of the beauty and majesty of the performance and programme but also with the parade of athletes, the flags and the costumes. You could sense the pride of everyone involved – and the Chinese audience reacted with cheers to welcome them to Hangzhou.

The action of these Asian Games is being broadcast around the world day by day, on TV, radio, social media, newspapers and other platforms.

Each multiple-sport event has its own distinctive opening ceremony - but the opening ceremony of the 19th Asian Games here in Hangzhou was something special. Everyone was proud to be present and to see such a beautiful sight.

As a proud Tajik myself, we were delighted with the judo gold medal for Somon Makhmadbekov. Let’s hope there are many more!
