Hangzhou, China, September 23, 2023: The opening ceremony of the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou on Saturday, September 23 witnessed a diverse presence of various cultures and countries.
We all gathered under the theme "Heart to Heart, @Future" and the organising committee put on a splendid display of culture, technology and unity.
As spectators, we felt that the message of unity and love was not just words but a feeling that reminded us that, despite our differences, we are all interconnected and harmonious like one big family.
From the beginning to the end of the ceremony, we were enchanted by the charm and beauty of the presentation. There was a wonderful visual display that took us on an artistic journey through the history and culture of China.
Ancient traditions seamlessly blended with advanced technology, bridging the gap between the past and the future, serving as a clear reminder of the rich heritage carried by this nation.
One of the highlights of the unforgettable event was the diverse representation of different Asian cultures. We all felt that China valued its guests as much as it valued its own heritage and culture. The sense of unity and friendship that prevailed at this event was truly wonderful.
Everyone enjoyed the use of advanced technology that showcased China's innovation prowess. The dedication to hosting a world-class global event was evident. As a Palestinian, my feeling today was that of witnessing all this magic and beauty. When I see the Palestinian flag flying high in the sky of the Asian Games in China, I feel a sense of pride and hope. It is a symbol of resilience and determination, reminding us of our people's pursuit of rights and freedom. At the same time, it emanates a positive vision that suggests that peace and justice can one day prevail, as the world unites for a brighter future, uniting cultures and peoples in solidarity.
In conclusion, the opening ceremony of the Asian Games in Hangzhou was an unforgettable experience. I left the ceremony feeling proud of the cultural richness of Asia and admiring the host country's ability to deliver such a magnificent show.
