Hangzhou, China, September 16, 2023: Asian Games host broadcaster China Media Group launched the Asian Games official documentary, “Hi, Asian Games”, during a ceremony at the Main Media Centre in Hangzhou on Saturday afternoon.
With the OCA’s Acting Director General, Vinod Kumar Tiwari, among the VIP guests, attendees were given a glimpse of the documentary which traces the Asian Games back to the first edition in New Delhi in 1951.
“Hi, Asian Games” not only shows treasured film footage from decades past capturing the history and magic of the Asian Games but also celebrates the epic journey of the Asian people and cultures for the past 72 years.
The launch of “Hi, Asian Games” was just one of four themes in the ceremony inside the vast lobby of the Main Media Centre, which houses the Main Press Centre, International Broadcast Centre, Host Broadcaster CMG and the Life Services Centre.
The three other celebrations were the inauguration of the MMC, two days before the official opening ceremony on September 18; the festival of Asian artists’ creations in Hangzhou Asian Games broadcasting; and to announce that the filming of China Media Group’s multilingual documentary, “Hangzhou: From the Past into the Future”, has begun. The documentary will be distributed around the world in 68 different languages.
Each segment of the ceremony was followed by a presentation or by the official countdown and launch of the respective projects, with the OCA Acting Director General taking centre stage alongside senior CMG staff and government officials.
