Amman, Jordan, September 4, 2023: The President of the Jordan Olympic Committee, HH Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein, last week felicitated Jordanian athletes who returned home victorious from the Arab Games in Algeria in July.

Prince Faisal praised the achievements made by the national teams and sports federations, and commended the determination to raise the Jordan flag at major sports events.

Jordan sent 132 athletes and took part in 17 sports at the Arab Games, winning a total of 64 medals comprised of 18 gold, 17 silver and 29 bronze.

JOC Secretary General Rana Al-Saeed also highlighted the importance of the achievement, saying that the performance reflected the huge strides and development made by Jordanian sports in recent years.

Jordan’s next major international assignment will be a step up as they compete at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou from September 23 to October 8.

The JOC had announced in July that an 89-strong athlete contingent will take part in 16 sports disciplines at the Hangzhou Asian Games.
