Kathmandu, Nepal, August 30, 2023: The President of Nepal Olympic Committee, Jeevan Ram Shrestha, was the chief guest on the closing day of the Olympic Solidarity course on Development of National Sports System of Hockey at the NOC HQ in Lalitpur.

President Shrestha handed over certificates to the participants who had completed the technical course for coaches, which was conducted in collaboration with the International Hockey Federation (FIH) and Asian Hockey Federation (AHF).

The Nepal NOC President then participated in a tree-planting ceremony on the grounds of the NOC Headquarters, kick-starting an ambitious reforestation campaign by the FIH and the AHF in hockey-playing regions across Pakistan. This initiative was started by FIH President Tayyab Ikram in June this year.

“The FIH extends its gratitude to the Nepal Olympic Committee and Nepal Hockey for supporting the ‘Give Back to Forest’ initiative,” the FIH commented on its Twitter page.

Also present at the ceremony were acting President of Nepal Hockey, Anil Sharma, and other officials.
