OCA together with IOC to hold webinar on Prevention of the Manipulation of Competitions

Kuwait City, Kuwait, August 27, 2023: The Olympic Council of Asia will hold a webinar on Tuesday, August 29 on the Prevention of the Manipulation of Competitions for National Olympic Committees across the region in preparation for the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China next month.

The OCA which will host the two-hour long webinar in collaboration with the International Olympic Committee has urged all 45 NOCs in Asia to join the online meeting which will get underway at 10am Kuwait time (GMT +3).

The webinar is open to all persons including athletes and officials who will participate at the Hangzhou Asian Games from September 23 to October 8.

Tony Tarraf, OCA Head of Athletes Development Department and Special Projects, will be one of the key speakers at the webinar along with Evangelos Alexandrakis, a member of the IOC’s Olympic Movement Unit.

Also speaking at the seminar will be Olympic Movement PMC members Rida Ahmed and Aiden Young, and the Interpol’s Dieter Braekeveld who will brief participants on the investigation and intelligence processes.

Tarraf will also address NOC’s on the important disciplinary process at the Asian Games in case there is a breach of the rules. The webinar will also look into a number of case scenarios.
